John Jones - BSc (Hons) MSc Physics - Associate
John has over 20 years of consulting experience in the IT industry in both Australia and the United Kingdom. John brings this experience to stakeholder consultation, business analysis, strategy development and enterprise architecture. John’s focus over the last few years has been on Identity Management and Service Oriented Architecture. John has developed partnerships with Sun Microsystems, Oracle and IBM, providing professional services and training resources in the area of Identity Management and SOA.
John’s identity and access management customers include: Vodafone, AMP, Roads and Traffic Authority NSW, Education Queensland, the Northern Territory Government, Infomedia and Sydney University AAF (Shibboleth).
John has previously worked for Sun Microsystems for a period of six years in a number of Senior Technical Leadership roles. He initially joined Sun's Java Centre and acted as a Senior Java Architect for four years. Following that, he became an Enterprise Architect, providing architectural leadership across several projects in any given account. His last role at Sun was that of the Australia and New Zealand software CTO.
John has also worked in a variety of roles including Middle-ware Architect at Barclays Capital, consultant for Object Consulting, Technical Director for Infonics, and Principal Engineer for DKS. The work covered a diverse range of technical areas from real-time embedded systems through to enterprise class systems.

John is a member of the IEEE, the Australian Institute of Physics and the British Institute of Physics.
John has worked closely with Galexia on recent identity management projects, including Galexia’s work on the Australian Government Online Service Point.
